Meet The Team

Ben Randall

Owner / Venue Manager

Ben has owned and operated The Sandbar since its inception in August 2013. Before this, he operated his family owned and operated business, The Paddington Alehouse, between 2003 and 2013. Ben is a Scarborough local, and has lived in the community since 2011

Lauren Nolan

Part-owner/Functions Manager

Lauren comes from Kerry in the South West of Ireland. Coming to Australia as a backpacker in 2018 she is now using her degree in Business information Systems to help her in her work at the Sandbar by the fabulous Scarborough Beach. Starting as a waitress she has loved it ever since, never looking back! Lauren became a part owner of The Sandbar in December 2022.

Josh

Venue Manager

Meet Josh, a true Perth local who adds a touch of Aussie spirit to our team, which includes many out-of-town members. After serving 3 years in the Australian Military, Josh spent 10 years in the hospitality industry, gaining experience in everything from clubs and pubs to roadhouses and bars.

His diverse background brings a wealth of knowledge to the team. When he’s off the clock, you’ll find Josh either playing sports or enjoying time at the park with his dog, Luxray.

Hayley Cavendish

Restaurant Manager

Originally from South East London, Hayley has been in Perth since October 2016, after spending a summer season on the Greek island of Ios.

She has been at The Sandbar for nearly 7 years, starting off as a bartender and being moved to the floor shortly after and promoted to Restaurant Manager

Sara Del Piano

Restaurant Manager

Sara comes from Milan, a very big city in the northern part of Italy. She has been living in Perth since September 2015 and straight away fell in love with Scarborough.

She has worked many years in the industry and she has been part of our team since early 2017 and loves it!

Hollie Savage

Assistant Bar Manager

Hollie comes from the South West of England from a city called Bristol. Hollie left Bristol in 2022 to travel around the world. She came across Scarborough on her way and it has been too good to leave! Hollie joined our team in August 2023. Having a teaching qualification under her belt, she is a great asset to our management team! In her spare time Hollie loves swimming in the sea and running along the coast.

Ben

Restaurant Manager

Meet Ben, originally from Aberdeen, Scotland. After studying Film & Media and Sports Science, he discovered his true passion for the restaurant industry! Ben made the move to WA in 2023 to embrace the sunny lifestyle and perfect weather that Perth has to offer. When he’s not working, Ben enjoys swimming and Pilates.

His top picks from our menu are the chicken tacos and the refreshing mango fandango!

Igor

Bar Manager

Meet Igor, hailing from Rio Claro, Brazil, who relocated to Western Australia in 2023. With 9 years of bartending experience, he’s a cocktail expert and a valuable asset to our bar team! Calm under pressure, Igor is a true gem to work with during busy shifts.

Outside of work, he enjoys watching the sunset with a cold beer in hand. When it comes to our menu, Igor can’t get enough of our pizzas, often trying a different one every day!

Oisin

Bar Manager

Meet Oisin, from Donegal, Ireland. With a background in Business Management and Economics, he enjoys applying his knowledge to the hospitality industry, ensuring our bar runs as efficiently as possible.

Oisin moved to Western Australia in 2024 to explore and is loving his time in Perth. Outside of work, he enjoys hitting the beach and boxing. His favorite items on the menu are the fish tacos and Brighton Bramble!

Marina

Bar Manager

Meet Marina, originally from the countryside of São Paulo, Brazil. Her hospitality journey began in 2015 in Sydney, where she discovered her passion for the industry and has been hooked ever since. To enhance her skills, she also studied Leadership and Management.

Since moving to Western Australia last year, Marina has been sharing her expertise and talent with us here at Sandbar. When she’s not working, she enjoys spending time at the beach and relaxing with a glass of wine during happy hour. Marina’s go-to dish on our menu is the barramundi sliders!

Sandrine

Restaurant Manager

Sandy comes from Montreal, the largest city in the French-speaking part of Canada. She arrived in Perth in 2024, believing that the West is the best. Sandy studied restaurant management and previously owned a local fish market back in her hometown. She’s passionate about everything related to good food and wine.

When she’s not creating a welcoming atmosphere at our restaurant, you can find her cooking up delicious meals or working out. Her smile is absolutely contagious, and her bubbly, positive personality makes her a joy to be served by!

Emma

Restaurant Manager

Originally from Devon, England, Emma first visited Australia in 2018, spending six months traveling along the East Coast. The experience left such an impression that she returned in January of this year to spend a year in Perth. With over a decade of experience in hospitality, starting at just 15 years old, Emma has developed a strong passion for delivering exceptional service and creating positive experiences for guests.

Outside of work, Emma enjoys exploring Perth and has a talent for playing the piano.

Adesh Sapkota

Bar Supervisor

Adesh comes from the North of Nepal. He has been in Australia since November 2013. Adesh has been part of the Sandbar since 2014.

He worked at several venues in Melbourne and Perth before joining The Sandbar crew. Here at the Sandbar, we have a multicultural family which is definitely one of the best thing about this place.
