Born on Saturday 31st August 2013
The name was created through a competition: ‘Name your new local ‘ for which thousands of residents were asked to submit their ideas for the chance to win 6 months of VIP treatment at our new look venue.
After receiving over 1200 suggestions, The Sandbar Scarborough Beach was formed and the winner announced… Ruth Lavender of South Perth.
Locally Owned and Operated
The Sandbar is locally owned and operated by Ben Randall, and our team of approximately 55 employees. Prior to taking over the business in August 2013, Ben had spent the previous 12 years at The Paddington Alehouse, which his family has owned and operated since 1987. He has been fortunate enough to grow up in and experience first-hand this amazing industry.
At The Sandbar, we prioritize community involvement. As a locally owned venue, we understand and meet community needs. Our customers define us, and we aim to be remembered as Scarborough’s best venue.
